EVENT TITLE: Museum of the Kansas National Guard World War 2 re-enactment

EVENT TIME: 7:00am-10am Pancake feed, 10:30am & 2:00pm performances.

June 14th the Museum of the Kansas National Guard is hosting the “Heartland Military Day. ” This has become an annual tradition, normally on the first or second weekend in June.
Beginning with a pancake feed at approximately 07:00 am-10am (donations accepted). There will also be Noon consessions available.
The first World War Two re-enactment will be at 10:30 am and a second one at 2:00 pm. Normally in addition to the re-enactors in authentic WWII uniforms, who fight in the Mock Battles, there are re-enactors in WWI uniforms and Civil War Uniforms.
Musical performances provided by Farilawn Road Swing Band at 11:15am and at 1pm the Topeka Big Band will perform.
The Local Chapter of the Military Vehicle Preservation Association, “Rolling Thunder,” have all types of WWI, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam era vehicles on display. Occasionally, if their mission permits, we have local National Guard modern combat vehicles available for viewing.
We normally have a book sale and some excess military patches and gift shop items for sale.
