“12 Deals of Christmas” to benefit charities as well as consumers, businesses

KTPK Country Legends 106.9 has announced its new “12 Deals of Christmas” program, to be set in motion by Dec.12. At press time, commitments had been received from Maximus Fitness and Wellness, The Pad Restaurant, Framewoods of Topeka, Jock’s Nitch, and Game Nut Entertainment to participate in the program.

“We are so pleased to incorporate our philosophy of supporting local charities into our new ‘deals’ program we are launching later this month,” KTPK General Manager Jim Allan told the Topeka Metro Voice.

“What sets our endeavor apart from the other worthy deals initiatives out there is our charities component,” Allan continued. “We believed it imperative that Legendary Deals include the opportunity for the merchant, designated local charity and consumer to benefit," Allan concluded.

Once 12 Deals of Christmas concludes, KTPK will embark on its 2012 Legendary Deals campaign. Under the guidance of Country Legends Interactive Media Director Monte Cutshall, the deals programs will coincide with the unveiling of KTPK’s new web site at countrylegends1069.com.

Initially, merchants will have the opportunity to choose between Children’s Miracle Network, Topeka Rescue Mission and the American Red Cross for the charitable portion of their commitment. As KTPK continues the program, other charities may become involved.

KTPK has raised more than $500,000 in the past five years for CMN and its local affiliate St. Francis Health Center Foundation. The station is currently in the midst of its Country Legends Cares campaign for the Rescue Mission. The American Red Cross Ride For The Red is one of KTPK’s major summer charitable initiatives.

“We are constantly blown away by our listeners’ willingness to help local charities and to frequent the businesses doing business with our station.” Allan said. “With a reach from Falls City, Nebraska to El Dorado Lake and from Lees Summit, Missouri to Junction City, the spending power of our listeners is overwhelming. That is why we know the charities component will make our deals program very special,” Allan noted.
