My name is Teresa Johnson but shorten that to TJ on the air. Working again at KTPK is just coming home for me. I worked here in the late 80’s and early 90’s and country music is something that I have always loved. I have some great memories of my years at KTPK and have always cherished the opportunities that I have had in the past of meeting artists backstage. Country music artists are genuinely appreciative of their fans and stay true to their roots.
I was born and raised here in Topeka living north of town. I attended Seaman schools and the University of Kansas where I studied Broadcast Journalism. I am married to my husband David, who I met while on a radio remote, and we have two sons, Shane and Zachery. We also have two dogs that we adopted from Helping Hands Humane Society, Molly, a Japanese Chin and Roxie a mutt. Roxie gets her name from “Rock Chalk Jayhawk”.
When not at Country Legends, I’m a Realtor, emergency substitute school teacher for Seaman schools and am active at my church. My husband and I also believe that it is important to volunteer so we sponsor/coach a softball team for Special Olympics, serve supper at the Topeka Rescue Mission and work with our churches Go Serve team.
Thanks for tuning in.
